Hyatt Globalist requirements 2026: 60 nights or 100K points, plus every shortcut
Updated
World of Hyatt Globalist requires 60 qualifying nights or 100,000 base points in a calendar year (nights and points can't be combined). Status lasts through the end of February two years after you earn it, so Globalist earned in 2026 runs to February 28, 2028. Shortcuts include Hyatt's credit cards (tier-qualifying nights), the 2026 corporate Elite Tier Offer (20 nights in 90 days), packaged challenges and instant Globalist.
The three Hyatt tiers
Discoverist needs 10 nights or 25,000 base points, Explorist 30 nights or 50,000, and Globalist 60 nights or 100,000. Only base points count (about 5 per US dollar on room rate and eligible charges), not bonus points, so the points route means roughly $20,000 of eligible spend. You qualify by nights or by points, not a mix of both.
You may still find two old rules online: a 55-night requalification threshold and a route via meetings and events. Neither appears in Hyatt's current terms; treat them as out of date.
Why Globalist is worth chasing
Globalist is widely seen as the best mid-level hotel status: a 30% points bonus, resort fees waived, upgrades that can include standard suites, 4pm late checkout (resorts excepted), club access or free breakfast, free parking on award stays, and Guest of Honor awards to share benefits with others. At 60 nights you also get Milestone Rewards including a Category 1–7 free night and Suite Upgrade Awards.
Shortcut 1: Hyatt credit cards
The World of Hyatt card ($95 a year) gives Discoverist status, 5 tier-qualifying nights each year and 2 more for every $5,000 spent. The business card adds 5 nights per $10,000 spent. Useful for topping up, but on their own they won't get you near 60.
Shortcut 2: the 2026 corporate Elite Tier Offer
Hyatt's corporate offer, open for registration until December 31, 2026 with an eligible corporate email, gives Explorist for 90 days: stay 10 nights to keep Explorist or 20 nights to reach Globalist, both through February 29, 2028. It's limited to once every three years, and Hyatt doesn't publish which companies qualify.
Shortcut 3: packaged challenges, night credits or instant Globalist
If your employer isn't eligible, a packaged 90-day challenge works the same way: 10 nights keeps Explorist and 20 nights keeps Globalist through February 28, 2028. Elite night credits add qualifying nights if you're within reach of 60. Instant Globalist puts the tier on your account through February 28, 2028 with no stays.
