Hilton Diamond requirements 2026: 50 nights, 25 stays or $11,500, and what changed
Updated
From 2026 activity, Hilton Honors Diamond needs 50 nights, 25 stays or $11,500 of eligible spend in a calendar year, down from 60 nights, 30 stays or 120,000 base points. Base points no longer count, rollover nights have ended, and a new top tier, Diamond Reserve, needs 80 nights or 40 stays plus $18,000 of spend. Status earned in 2026 lasts until March 31, 2028.
Hilton's 2026 tiers
Silver: 10 nights, 4 stays or $2,500. Gold: 25 nights, 15 stays or $6,000 (it was 40 nights, 20 stays or 75,000 base points). Diamond: 50 nights, 25 stays or $11,500. Diamond Reserve: 80 nights or 40 stays, and $18,000.
Many ranking pages still quote the old 60-night Diamond rule. The new thresholds apply to activity from 2026, and Hilton applies a new tier as soon as you meet it.
What counts as eligible spend
Eligible spend is what you pay Hilton hotels: the room rate plus incidentals such as dining charged to the room, including on award stays. Credit card spending doesn't count, and neither do base points any more.
Diamond vs. Diamond Reserve
Diamond keeps its benefits: a 100% points bonus, executive lounge access, upgrades, a 48-hour room guarantee and the ability to gift status. Diamond Reserve adds a confirmable suite upgrade on reaching the tier, guaranteed 4pm checkout including resorts, a 120% points bonus, premium club access and a dedicated service desk. No credit card gives Diamond Reserve, and there's no lifetime version.
Shortcuts
The Hilton Honors American Express Aspire card gives Diamond outright and the Surpass card gives Gold; Hilton's cards give status, not nights. Hilton also runs a public status challenge (Gold for 90 days, with 6 nights to keep Gold and 12 nights to earn Diamond, according to early-2026 reports).
Packaged options work similarly: a Gold or Diamond challenge (8 nights keeps Gold, 12 keeps Diamond through March 2028), or a year of Gold or Diamond with no stays.
